What are enamel pin grades?
Enamel pins are always handmade and polished, which introduces some variability in their finish. I categorize these pins into two grades: Standard (A) and Imperfect (B) grade. A grade pins have minimal imperfections, while B grade pins display more noticeable flaws. These flaws can include specks beneath the enamel, scratches, color variations in the metal, or underfilled/overfilled enamel. Choose A grade for the highest quality pin. Opt for B grade if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option and are okay with more visible defects. Personally, I prefer buying B grade pins for everyday use on items like bags, which tend to get tossed around. This way, I’m less concerned about them getting scratched.
